Visit and tasting
Get ready to live a unique food and wine experience at Castrum Wine Relais.
At the entrance to Valpolicella Classica, on the top of the highest hill in the village of Castelrotto, is Castrum Rotari, a military fortress built in the 7th century that over the centuries has hosted important figures who have marked the history of Valpolicella.
The tasting is offered in the old cellar of Casa Fraccaroli, in one of the 3 stone rooms of the Castrum Wine Bistrò concept restaurant or on the terrace located in Piazza del Borgo di Castelrotto. During the tasting, carefully selected gastronomic products are served and paired in line with the wines of our winery's PLATINUM collection: the CASTRUM line.

Nestled in the heart of Valpolicella Classica atop the tallest hill in Castelrotto village, Villa Fraccaroli is a historic 18th-century residence revitalized by the creation of Castrum Relais. The Fraccaroli family, with a winemaking tradition dating back to the 18th century, has transformed their estate into a vibrant destination. The cellar, once used for winemaking, is now the Castrum Wine Bar & Bistrò, while the modern winery operates in the estate's underground space, constructed in the 1980s under Paolo Borghetti's guidance. Villa Fraccaroli, with its rich history and prime location in Valpolicella Classica, produces a range of exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. The estate's vineyards are carefully tended, producing wines that embody the traditional craftsmanship passed down through generations of the Fraccaroli family. The Castrum Wine Bar & Bistrò offers visitors a chance to experience these wines in a setting that combines historic charm with modern elegance, all while enjoying breathtaking views of the valley and the peaks of Lessinia.
