Visit and tasting
Let yourself be guided into the heart of the tuffeau stone and awaken your senses to the world of Loire Valley wines. This immersive tour will offer you a breathtaking view of the Cher Valley, followed by a journey through the impressive maze of our cellars. At the heart of our scenography on the theme of the Loire Valley castles and our production cellars, our guide will present the works and familiarize you with the Traditional Method. Finally, upon your return to the shop, we will offer you an introduction to the art of tasting with an in-depth and commented tasting of 6 Loire Valley wines (sparkling, white, rosé, red, and sweet) accompanied by local products. A unique and sensory experience in the company of our guides, who will share with you their passion for our estate and their knowledge of wines.

Sobre o anfitrião
The tradition began in 1886 with Alcide Monmousseau who successfully founded a wine trade in Montrichard. While his business enjoyed great recognition, he discovered at the end of the 19th century one of the most important freestone quarries in the region, which turned out to be for him and his nephew Justin-Marcel, the ideal place to the production of wines according to the traditional method. The Monmousseau cellars are an essential site for wine tourism in the Loire Valley. We offer you a unique visit to a great Touraine wine house, rich in its know-how and its 15 km of galleries. The visit begins in the open air with an exceptional view of the Cher and the famous “Valley of the Kings” which was also the largest place of troglodyte habitat in France. The immersion in the heart of our cellars is amazing thanks to the tapestries of lights worked by the artist Na/Da, to offer you an unprecedented vision of the most beautiful monuments of the Loire and retrace the history and origin of the cellars. Then, you will cross the production cellar where our bottles age on slats to explain to you in detail the traditional method for which the wines of Maison Monmousseau are renowned. You will end your visit with a commented tasting of our emblematic cuvées. Looking forward to welcoming you !
