Visit and tasting
Our winery-museum and the Garden of Varieties offer a unique experience to discover the essence of wine in Rioja Alavesa. The guided tour takes place in our 16th-century building and consists of five parts:
1) The Garden of Varieties, a vineyard with more than a hundred types of grapes from around the world, from where you can enjoy the best views of the Ebro River and find the most beautiful swing in Rioja.
2) Ethnological museum, where we will explore centuries-old cellars that preserve prehistoric, Roman, and medieval remains.
3) Wine museum, with the tools and techniques that our family used in the 19th century.
4) Tunnel of the senses, an experience to discover the aromas, flavors, and colors of wine.
5) Final tasting of four wines and an oil on our glazed porch.
Our winery-museum has been awarded, up to four times, as the Best Winery in Art and Culture in the prestigious Best Of awards.

In the heart of Elciego, where history and innovation intertwine, Bodegas Valdelana emerges as a living testament to the passion for winemaking that has transcended generation after generation since 1583. The 15th and 16th-century underground cellars house an ethnological museum that reveals the secrets of the civilizations that have cultivated vines in Rioja Alavesa. Additionally, the Wine Museum displays centuries-old tools that chronicle the evolution of viticulture in the region. Innovation is our hallmark. The Garden of Varieties, located on a majestic bend in the Ebro River, cultivates more than 130 grape varieties, including the ancient Marawi, used in biblical times. This space is not only a tribute to the diversity of wines, but also a lookout point offering unparalleled views of the region's landscape. You'll also find Rioja's most iconic swing here. Our commitment to excellence has been recognized on multiple occasions. In 2023, we were awarded the Best of Innovative Experiences award, consolidating our position as one of the most outstanding wine tourism projects in Spain. Prior to this award, we won three awards from the renowned Arts and Culture competition.
