Visit and tasting
Cueva del Monge aims to pay tribute to the ancient habitat that the 200 monks built in the rocks of Albelda and which today constitutes the group of caves of the rupestrian scriptorium.
The visit begins by explaining our project, from its characteristic and emblematic name to the birth of the winery.
You will immerse yourself in our Universo 200 Monges through wine, art, and culture.
The tour runs through the precious labyrinth of cellars, between wooden vats, oak barrels, and bottle racks where our most iconic wines are made and aged.
In the Cueva del Monge we can admire the fascinating miniatures of the impressive facsimile of the Codex Albeldense (year 974), a "jewel of medieval miniature".
At the end of the visit we will taste 2 wines from our Cueva del Monge range (white and red).
We will accompany these wines with an appetizer: "the Monk's refreshment".

Explore our cellars and discover exceptional wines like our flagship 200 Monges Reserva. It takes its name from the 200 monks who inhabited the now-vanished Monastery of San Martín de Albelda and dedicated their lives to safeguarding culture. We spell it with a "G" because that's how the word appeared in the early days of Spanish.
