ENATE, one of the most emblematic wineries of the DO Somontano, has a long history of producing quality wines. Within the winery's strategy, the concept of quality does not stop at the wine as such, but rather its philosophy seeks to distinguish itself within the world of wine through its inescapable pairing with contemporary art, the essence of its character and hallmark of identity in time. Today, ENATE is a winery and museum. It is both a wine bar and an art gallery, and has forged its personality in the exquisiteness of both. Its barrels and its walls summarize the great wines of Spain, inhabited by the genius of the great national and international creators. With a continental Mediterranean climate and low annual rainfall, the Somontano soils are characterized by being limestone and stony, with the presence of gypsum in some cases, and a sandy-loam texture. In addition, the great thermal difference that exists between day and night in summers contributes to a slow and optimal ripening of the grapes. Thus, the climate of contrasts, the soils with sandy loam textures of exceptional quality and the pure water from the melting of the Pyrenees make Somontano a unique environment for growing vines. The proximity to the medieval towns of Aínsa or Alquézar, Barbastro, capital of Somontano, and its magnificent cathedral, or the sanctuary of Torreciudad complete a very special trip at the foot of the Pyrenees.
