At the beginning of the twentieth century, the economic situation of the champagne vine growers is difficult: At that time, the most terrible evil to face is the lack of regulation! Then, the First World War occurs. In 1918, Venteuil, our village, was completely destroyed. These serious events will delay the establishment of a law governed in 1927, which since then strictly protects the Champagne wine and allows us to affirm today loud and clear: "There is Champagne only Champagne".
