Discover the authentic soul of Tuscany with an unforgettable visit to the historic Frescobaldi family estate: Castello Nipozzano, in the heart of Chianti Rufina.
The visit begins with an introduction to the history of the Frescobaldi family and their production philosophy, followed by a comprehensive tour of the cellars, including the historic underground barrel cellar. We will then stroll through the modern production areas overlooking the vineyards and the village of Nipozzano, concluding the tour with exclusive access to the castle and the family's private Wine Library.
Immerse yourself in the authentic flavors of Tuscany with a refined and convivial culinary journey. The experience begins with an aperitivo featuring assorted crostini, prepared with typical Tuscan and Florentine ingredients, enhanced by the elegant sparkling wines from our Pomino estate. This will be followed by a full four-course lunch, each paired with a selected wine and a tasting of Laudemio Frescobaldi, including dessert.

Castello Nipozzano Timeless beauty. Essence of Tuscany. With a medieval and Renaissance heart. Castello Nipozzano, built in the year 1000, is located in the heart of the prestigious Chianti Rufina area, right on the mountainside overlooking the Arno River valley. Castello Nipozzano is the most famous and historic property of the Frescobaldi family. According to popular tradition, Nipozzano means “without a well”, testifying to the fact that the area was poor in water, an ideal circumstance for growing vines. A unique feature of the territory is due to the foresight of an enlightened ancestor of the Frescobaldis who in 1855 invested 1,000 silver florins to begin cultivating varieties that were then unknown in Tuscany, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot: after more than a century, the care of these magnificent vineyards allowed the production of the estate's great wine, Mormoreto.
