Paitin is an ancient nickname inextricably linked to the Elia family for centuries. We are a small family winery, made up of 18 hectares of land managed by 10 people, 3 of whom are part of the family: Giovanni and Silvano (7th generation) and Luca (8th generation). We are in the village of Neive, on the hill of Serraboella, one of the most famous vineyards of Neive and Barbaresco. Known for a long time for its long-lived wines and dynamic complexity, the result of an ancient calcareous soil, far from the influences of the Tanaro river and of good elevation. Purchased in 1796 in the Napoleonic era, the production of wine has been documented since 1828. In 1893 Giuseppe Elia (3rd generation) began bottling Bricco di Neive Barbaresco thanks to the guidance of Domizio Cavazza, known as "the father of Barbaresco" . We were among the pioneers of this denomination. Today we only grow native Piedmontese varieties, with organic practices and with a mentality aimed at sustainability. We raise our wines with traditional methods. We focus on the expression of the territory and on the identification and exaltation of the uniqueness of each individual plot. We believe we can showcase the beauty of Nebbiolo through our knowledge and experience developed on earth over the centuries. Our Barbaresco Sorì Paitin Serraboella Vecchie Vigne is the synthesis of this philosophy.
