Located in the heart of Anjou, in the village of Martigné-Briand, the Château de la Calonnière reveals its 3 secrets to you! THE magic formula that allows Château de la Calonnière to obtain the best from its grapes and produce a wide range of wines lies in these three essential components: a terroir of schist and sandstone, the Layon on the edge of the vines and...the famous Angevin sweetness! We couldn't have dreamed of anything better than these 3 magic wands placed above the cradle of our 18 hectares of vines! Our range of wine is therefore rich and ambitious: 6.7ha of Chenin (King of Anjou grape variety for Coteaux du Layon and Anjou Blanc) 6.4ha of Cabernet franc (for Anjou Rouge and Cabernet d’Anjou) 2.11ha of Cabernet Sauvignon (for Anjou Villages) 2ha of black and gray Grolleau (for Rosé) 1.10ha of Chardonnay (for Crémant de Loire) Like many siblings, all these wines have their personality, their character, their charm. Everyone on the team has their favorite, of course. What will yours be?!… Ah yes, the team!… Could it be the 4th “secret” of the Calonnière?!…
