The first traces of the link between wine, vines, the lands of Grave del Friuli and our family – the Pittaros – date back to 1644. The name Pitars follows the fate of the family surname in the local dialect. A surname that, in our brand, is still accompanied by hawthorn, a simple but elegant plant that once marked the boundaries between fields. Today, Loris, Bruno, Mauro, Paolo and the fourth generation of us Pitars – Nicola, Stefano and Alessandro – keep the family rural tradition alive and the profession of those who make good wine, with pride and dedication, day after day. The Castello del vino of the Pitars winery is immersed in a garden surrounded by rows of vines as far as the eye can see. Here, overlooking the vineyards, we host the wine shop, the tasting room and the spaces for conviviality. In fact, at the wine shop you can do tastings, of wine alone or accompanied by food. We offer tastings in the cellar to both private individuals and companies. Wine tasting can also be done at the end of a visit to our cellar: to learn about its history, see how the production chain of a winery works and discover the barrel cellar, where the most prized wines age.
