Our story begins in 1919 when brothers Alfredo, Francesco, and Alberto Pardi founded the Fratelli Pardi Winery, then located on the ground floor of the San Marco Hospital, part of the San Francesco complex in Montefalco. At the time, the grapes were partly owned and partly purchased from local landowners. The wines produced were both white and red, but Sagrantino, then exclusively a passito, was the most important. Deliveries covered the entire Umbrian territory and occasionally even went outside the region, such as those destined for the Vatican. In 2002, driven by the Pardi family's shared desire to preserve a tradition, great-grandchildren Francesco, Gianluca Rio, and Alberto Mario, with the help of their parents Agostino and Alberto, renovated the building in Montefalco to reestablish their great-grandparents' winery. Today, brothers Gianluca Rio and Alberto Mario, with their enthusiasm and hard work, are strengthening the century-old bond between wine and the Pardi family.
