The tufa atoll that dominates the landscape of Rocca Ripesena bears witness to a tectonic tumult and is in close harmony and resemblance to the incredible tuff platform that contains the city of Orvieto, both linked in a gigantic creative phenomenon. The facts of this dynamic vitality are still expressed by multiple signs that the subsoil of this magical place sends us back physically to the most radical image of creation and its elements: fire and water, indissoluble architects of our creation. Even the vegetation that covered and decorated the primitive structures is the expression of a harmonious agreement with this vital power: gigantic oaks and mighty chestnut trees are the sculptures of an immense natural "museum". On the gently rounded hills, only the vineyards express the signs of contemporary history and the industriousness of the man who lives in these places; they look like blankets covering the backs of crouched prehistoric animals. The golden and fragrant grapes and the resulting wine are the reward for the completion of a grandiose process and of a centuries-old complicated phenomenon which is that of life.
